Vantage is seeking Analyst candidates with exceptional communication and organizational skills, strong business knowledge, a desire to solve problems creatively and support client-facing and internal projects. Analysts must be able to work diligently, both independently and as part of teams. They should be enthusiastic about learning from, working hard in, and taking advantage of the professional opportunities afforded to them. Individuals who excel in the Analyst role are given increasing client-related responsibilities over time and are considered for promotion to Consultant within two to three years.

There are three key categories of Analyst responsibilities:

1. Client Support 
Analysts are staffed to help support client projects, usually working as part of a team or directly with a senior team member

  • Project managing with input from the senior members of the team
  • Creating and maintaining a project plan
  • Note taking and task management
  • Tracking and following up on action items to ensure completion
  • Helping manage engagement logistics (e.g., scheduling, room details, technology setup, conference calls)
  • Supporting diagnostic interview processes by creating interview guides, taking notes, compiling qualitative data, and helping analyze results
  • Attending client meetings to take notes and organize them into a useful set of key ideas and actions after the meeting
  • Creating strong first drafts and revisions to client deliverables (e.g., reports, training programs, process design) for review and refinement with project team

2. Internal Support:
Analysts provide support across our three Consulting Practices (i.e., Alliances, Sales and Account Management, and Sourcing and Supply Chain Management)

  • Conducting background research on latest industry news and trends related to the Practices
  • Preparing presentation materials for speaking engagements and conferences
  • Project management of small to large internally-focused projects like research studies and strategy-development efforts
  • Conducting secondary research for various studies and articles
  • Coordinating and helping to draft marketing materials such as case studies describing prior client projects
3. Miscellaneous Support:
We are a small firm, and our consulting team often needs to be resourceful and flexible. Analysts may be asked to pitch in on all kinds of tasks large and small

  • Research to support urgent client or team needs
  • Proofreading or formatting documents
  • Transcribing whiteboard notes, videos, etc.
  • Lending support to internal initiatives, such as recruiting
Required qualifications for an ideal applicant include:
  • B.S. or B.A. degree with proven quantitative and qualitative abilities
  • Top ranking academic credentials from an outstanding institution
  • Work experience (at least through internships) and a demonstrated interest in business consulting
  • Strong analytical, organizational, research and communication skills
  • Proven attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Solid judgment to distinguish between circumstances requiring execution of directions versus adding independent analysis
  • A self-motivated approach to learning and mastering skills
  • Ability to take initiative
  • A commitment to timeliness and reliability
  • Willingness to work long hours
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Professional demeanor and presence
  • Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative team environment
