Executing successful integrations start with planning. Vantage Partners’ approach begins with achieving leadership alignment on deal value drivers, and continues with defining future state operating models, establishing ways of working, and creating the desired culture.
Stakeholder Alignment
Across executive leadership teams, and with key leads at the functional level, Vantage Integration Management (IM) services focuses on building alignment on the deal thesis and desired synergies, and the integration objectives that will enable those synergies, to enable integration and execution plans that drive value.
Operating Model Refinement
Acquisitions create an opportunity, and often need, for operating model transformation. Vantage Partners works with executive teams to confirm alignment on the “why” of acquisitions (aligning deal thesis to vision & strategy), confirm “what” the organization needs to look like in order to realize that why (confirming enterprise capabilities and structures are set up to enable integration objectives), and redefine “how” we work to enable execution (considering our people, processes, and tools).
Cultural Harmonization
Whether one organization is onboarding new team members to their organizational culture or newly defined (and often combined) culture is being created, organizational culture often defines how work actually gets done. Vantage Partners works with integration management teams to execute culture diagnostics between two joining organizations and collaborates with leadership to implement a culture development plan that is aimed to enable team members to be as successful as possible, build high performing integrated teams, and minimize the potential for unwanted attrition.
Change Management
M&A activity can create enormous tension, and productivity-loss within organizations. Vantage’s IM team partners with executive leadership to engage impacted colleagues, and support them through the all aspects of the transition period.

Vantage Experience
- Led post-merger integration activities for global biotechnology company’s acquisition of strategic asset and associated technical operations business unit and manufacturing facilities from a US-based biopharmaceutical company
- Facilitated alignment across stakeholders on terms of integration, including timelines of transition, interim shared services, and future-state operating models
- Staffed and managed an Integration Management Office, partnering with a global senior management team to define integration objectives and plans, and enable aligned execution across functions (including Medical, Research, TechOps, and core business functions)
- Facilitated leadership alignment around a playbook for future acquisition integrations, including scenario planning for different acquisition types/objectives
- Staffed and managed an Integration Management Office for post-merger integration activities for a complex technology, asset and people integration, aligning leadership team and functional leads on synergies, integration objectives, and execution plans based on playbook, and maintaining aligned execution for pre-close through 100-day milestone
